Ready to Listen. Ready to Work for You.
I am a teacher working with the online school division for the province and am seeking the NDP nomination in Saskatoon University-Sutherland. I currently work with the northern section of the online learning center serving students in the far north of the province. For nearly the last decade I have lived in Saskatoon University-Sutherland. Like many people in Saskatchewan right now, I too am concerned about the state of public education in our province. Having taught in rural, northern, and urban areas in Saskatchewan, I can attest to the tough decisions school divisions are having to make throughout our province. Whether it be deferring maintenance on buildings, overcrowded class sizes, or a lack supports for students, it is clear that the Saskatchewan Party does not work for you.
In my earlier life I grew up in northern Saskatchewan in the community of La Loche where my parents were both teachers. Though my roots may be in northern Saskatchewan, I now call Saskatoon home. Since moving to Saskatoon I have lived in the Greystone Heights area of Saskatoon University-Sutherland and am currently the only candidate declared that lives in the riding. This is a great opportunity to elect an MLA that lives in the riding and understands the concerns of residents that live here.
I am proud to be a New Democrat and I think we have a lot to be proud of when it comes to our history in government in Saskatchewan. Introducing healthcare, rural electrification, or paying down debt after years of conservative party mismanagement are just a few things that I am proud of. Along with being a proud New Democrat I am also ready to get to work and listen to you, residents of Saskatoon University-Sutherland. When I am out on the doorstep talking to residents I hear the concerns you have, whether it be climate, affordability, healthcare, education, introducing a living wage, housing, or harm reduction. Not only am I ready to listen, I am ready to work for you and if chosen as your MLA I will ensure these issues are acted on and we deliver solutions.
